Guys! Its been forever, right? Two months, to be more accurate, but it has felt like years since my last blog post! The culprit? Summer time madness and one broken wrist. It was, in a word, terrible. Not only did it hurt like hell, but breaking my right wrist meant I was more or less out of commission as far as blogging and a whole lot of other everyday things were concerned (eating, brushing my teeth, changing diapers- to name a few- and it was all sloppy and terrible). On the flip side, I did manage to master applying eyeliner with my left hand so that’s a win? I’m trying to look at the positives, you know?
If you have to get a cast, might as well make it a chic black one, right?
The broken wrist came a week before our annual summer trip to Toronto – and of course it would be the first ever trip we would be taking without the Mr. – so you can imagine my apprehension. Fortunately, everything went very well, and aside from the ridiculousness of not being able to use my right hand for so long, we had a good vacation. We flew back on the 23rd and the cast came off on the 25th, and now I’m just brimming with ideas and blog posts that I can’t wait to share with you! But before we get back into all of that, here’s a little photo recap from our Toronto vacation.
On our way! The first thing I do on any flight is kick off my shoes (but only if I’m wearing socks because otherwise ew). I bought these slip-on’s from Target before we left and they’re so comfortable! That fab purse is Target too and it’s been my go-to since I bought it. Completely obsessed with the pop of yellow on the sides.
At my parent’s house. Their compound backyard is full of grassy spaces and large evergreens.
We were in town for Eid which was a great excuse to dress up, eat way too much and take entirely too many photos. At this point, the Boy was completely over it and refused to smile for another photo. She, of course, has to do everything he does haha. This was a #momfail moment for me but honestly, this picture makes me laugh every time, so there we go.
At the in laws, in their gorgeous backyard with that amazing pool. Sadly, I didn’t have a waterproof cast and so the closest I got to the pool was sitting on the diving board next to it, staring longingly at the water. Wah wahhh.
This is Hugo, my mother in laws dog. Admittedly, I’m more of a cat person but Hugo’s really cute.

We also celebrated my mom’s 60th birthday with this amazing (homemade!) cake.
We went for a walk with my BFF and all-round superstar, Marie-Claire, and her girls and mine picked these pretty pink daisies for us. From the neighbours yard. Oops!
And here is my aforementioned BFF and the Baby. She’s planted the prettiest, coolest vegetable garden on one side of her front yard; the other side is full of chamomile. The Baby had an excellent time picking out the tiny little white chamomile flowers and presenting them to us.
This day, we were at my brother and sister in law’s place. This is the view from their condo downtown. I love that you can just see the lake peeking through the skyscrapers. Do we still call them skyscrapers? I feel like I’m dating myself here. The photo on the right is from just outside the Air Canada Center. I had an extreme moment of patriotism.
Oh, and I I shopped. A bit, you know. Ok, maybe a wee bit more than a bit. But I only bought two pairs of shoes and that’s a record for me! The jeans are from Lucky Brand, the shirt is the softest chambray from Talula and the shoes are Mimosas from Browns Shoes. So comfortable! It’s one of my favourite outfits. I’m going to nail this capsule wardrobe thing, you guys. I swear it.
